Reimagining Urban Spaces Through Color!

By 2050, over two-thirds of the global population will reside in cities. This demands a radical reimagining of our urban spaces to adapt to climate change.

“Future Cities” synthesizes research from a variety of sources including Smart Cities by Anthony M. Townsend, Dream Cities by Wade Graham, Sustainability in Cities by Ooi Giok Ling, and more.

It also draws inspiration from existing green architecture across Singapore and worldwide. This project explores the critical decisions needed to shape our collective urban futures.

A Collective Data Piece for the World We Wish to See

Visitors are invited to pick up a color and dive into this interactive coloring book. Each color corresponds to a feature they would love to see in the cities of tomorrow.

By the end of the exhibition, the most commonly chosen colors were orange, representing "Green spaces—make certain percentage of the city with no human developments so nature can thrive," and lime green, symbolizing "Grow free food on rooftops, lawns, balconies, and city streets that anyone can eat from."

Now, does that sound like a city you’d like to live in?

Together, we created a shared vision for the urban futures we wish to create.
